Blind Skills Lab: Making a PBJ

My class has been learning to write in braille so as a skills lab, we had to enter a room blind and create a PBJ. We had little to no knowledge on where these items and ingredients were located. We had three minutes to assemble the sandwich as much as possible. There was a sink with the peanut butter and jelly on the side. There was crunchy and creamy peanut butter with braille where we had to decipher which one we wanted to use. I chose crunchy peanut butter. We then had to find the bread and plates under the sink. After we got a plastic lunch bag and knife to spread the ingredients. This lab was difficult and many of my classmates couldn't actually finish the task in three minutes. It really puts in prospective the struggles of the blind and how quick they have to think to get tasks done correctly.
