Emma Pickett's Exotic Animal Biomed Takeover

Updated: May 17, 2021

Emma Pickett, a senior and year three biomed student, came to our biomed class to teach about her passion. She wants to be an Exotic Vet for animals other than the basic cat or dog. The two branches of being a vet could be in the regular or exotic fields. Emma brought Timmy, her dwarf bunny, to show us the exotic animals exams. We learned how to give a rabbit a health check (weighing them, checking for bumps, checking ears, nose, mouth, and feet. Visual abnormal signs can be seen with dental issues/ cold, or ear trauma. Emma also showed us how to take care and feet the rabbit (also other ways to care and live with them).
