Forensics Day THREE

Writer's picture: Taylor JacksonTaylor Jackson

Today we had the chance to split off into groups and work through this year's crime scene. Here are my notes as the scribe:

As we walk up:

-Mr. Nease was sitting outside of the living room with a bloody towel

-Stated: “I LOVED my wife but couldn’t save her”

-asked for an attorney to answer any further questions

Once we walked in

-woman shot through head and laying on the ground

-Rachel Nease is her name, wife of Paul Nease

-a gun was on the right side of the body with tattooing on the right side

-enter hole on right, exit hole on left

-brain matter spread on the wall alongside blood splatter

-the gun was a 38 caliber with only one bullet missing

-table with a laptop open, phone to the left, and coffee cup to the right

-it was Rachel’s coffee cup (her fingerprints)

-Rachel’s phone and laptop

-Both fingerprints were on the laptop mousepad

-Gun was registered to Paul Nease (His finger prints were on the gun)

-Rachel’s blood was on the gun

-We got a download of the phone (asked for laptop and it was wiped)

-Found Paul’s phone were we found he was texting his Sister in Law

-He looked up how to kill his wife

-Rachel’s phone was filled with searches about husbands having an affair, feeling like her husband was going to kill her, and other worrisome searches

-texts showed she asked him why he has been so distant

-Paul’s searches show him looking up and buying the gun
