FORENSICS WEEK (day one)

On april 12, 2021, Mr. Garside came to our class to discuss Forensic Evidence. The first thing to note is the “Devil is in the details”. The details of a matter are its most crucial and essential aspect. Forensic evidence is evidence grabbed by scientific methods to help find someone guilty or innocent. Any item can be seen as evidentiary in value and will be tested with someone qualified to evaluate. Digital forensics contain values with computers, cell phones, vehicles, banking, and all social media sites. In order to be in the field of forensics, the person must have qualities that are very versatile, willing to keep up with trends, general knowledge of lifestyles (religions, fads, etc.), and able to work with a team. Your attention to detail and thinking outside of the box is crucial to any sort of conclusion. To think as four people at a time is significant to the case. For example: the detective will prove who did it, the suspect will figure out how to get away with it, the prosecutor will get the evidence admitted, and the attorney will prevent the evidence from getting admitted to court. Many misconceptions in forensics are that there are always fingerprints, there will always be dna, everyone who commits suicide leaves a note, you must have forensic evidence ot prove your case, and time of death. After being presented the presentation with the knowledge above, we were presented many true death cases that Mr. Garside worked in the past. We were to determine whether they were a suicide, natural death, industrial death, or accidental death. After determining the difficult images, that concluded the first day of forensic week!
