Peer Prototype Review

I had the chance to review the prototypes of my classmates as we all had the chance to create a prosthetic for Squirrell, a disabled dog.

Group C: Mohammed, Ella, Gracie, Kennedy

“Da branch” was the name of the prototype.

  • Brainwriting was used to illustrate the idea.

    • along with creating a materials list.

  • Design process: created a basic and clear engineering design process

  • Mishaps:

    • Lost supplies twice

  • Why they should be selected

    • Lots of thinking into the process

    • Stabilize legs with more assistive modelling

    • vest/rubber legs for mobility

Group B: Charlie Anne, Alex, Chloe, Joslyn

  • Wheely was the name of the prototype

    • Brainstorming process:

      • leash/harness was needed

      • Rubber boot was eliminated

      • Wheelchair with four wheels (selected model)

    • success/fails

      • Wooden wheels fail/ pool noodle

    • Why them?

    • takes pressure of undeveloped foot; wheels can brake, comfortable
