This Friday, my Interventions in Biomedical Science Class had the opportunity to listen to Micheal Hites as our guest speaker. Mr. Hites is a Physician Assistant (PA). While not initially knowing he wanted to be a PA, he created his career after completing nursing school. After lots of trial and error through time, he figured out the hours and strain of being a nurse was not for him. He decided to apply to PA school after completing a few pre-requisites that were not necessary for nursing school. He spoke to our class about the schooling, undergrad, didactics, jobs, and fields that are possible with being a physician assistant. He asked our class if we had any questions and we all wanted to know some of his experiences throughout his time in the medical field. He told us about the saddest, most interesting, least favorite, and his best stories as a PA. He was very interesting to listen too and I really enjoyed learning more about what it takes to be a physician assistant.
