Today my Interventions in Biomedical Science Class had the opportunity to return the South Alabama's Biomedical Science Library. After a quick tour a month ago, we got to see how we could come in and find literature related to our field of interest. When writing our 25 paper, we have to use a bunch of different sources, and a textbook by medical professionals has to be one. After lunch, we headed over there as a class, and quickly got to work. While I didn't use any sort of key term to access the literature online or by the book-keeper, I still found the books very quick. I remembered where I found the surgery books last time and went there. Some of the books I found were Evidence-Based Approach to Minimally Invasive Surgery, A Century of Surgery 1880-1980, and Textbook of Surgery-The Biological Basis of Modern Surgical Practice. I do believe that our time at the library was successful as we were all productive. It was super interesting to see all the literature published for the various topics.
An example of an APA citation I would use for one of these pieces of literature would be:
Townsend, C., & D Beauchamp. (2005). Sabiston textbook of surgery : board review.
Saunders.
