Weekly Blog 2022-08-29

Updated: Sep 9, 2022

We finished another busy week of biomed and school! We started off the week with presenting our presentations we constructed last week on our field of interest. We played the audio we recorded and converted through the speakers and we did not even have to speak during it! It was really interesting listening to your own voice presenting your presentation. We also completed another week of discussion posts! This week was about patients rights and all that entails. Then, we updated our Wix websites to line up with our current interests and activities.

To change things up from all the individual work, we incorporated a new skills lab. We started a simulation game on the big screen that the whole class has to participate with. We all dressed in scrubs and were simulated doctors for a cartoon patient. Tina, the simulation, was brought in from a previous fall and scrape on her foot. We learned the basics of performing a HEENT assessment so we could perform it on Tina. We had to introduce ourselves, promote privacy, check arm bands, explain what we are doing, and ask questions of the incident. It was really fun being involved with my class and we are planning on finishing up the simulate HEENT assessment next week!
